….Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…. Hebrews 12:2
Beloved, the best of us can fail and miss the mark. As a matter of fact, we all make mistakes and fall short of the Glory of God. We are made right and justified ONLY by the blood of Jesus. He alone is perfect. (Romans 3:23-24) The only one who is faultless, flawless and altogether lovely is Jesus and because He never misses the mark, we can look unto Him.
Looking unto someone is different than looking to someone or looking at someone. Looking unto someone is you turning to that person and expecting something from him/her. Say for instance, if you were riding a bike and you fall down into a steep ditch and you’ve hurt your leg. If you see someone going pass, you’re turning to look unto that person to help you get out of that ditch. They may or may not help you. But the difference with looking at vs. looking unto – is that you’re not going to sit in that ditch looking at that person to see what they have on or what type of bike they’re riding, you’re going to look unto that person seeking help. I use this example of someone riding a bike because my children like to ride bikes. Unfortunately, two of them are not very good bike riders! LOL  Once while on a family outing at a park, one of my children rode his bike too fast going down a hill and ended up colliding with another family member! As the rest of us were making our way down the hill to help them, my child and the other family member were looking unto us for help! We made sure that they were alright and assisted them the remainder of the way down the hill. 🙂
This is how Jesus wants us to look unto Him! Always looking unto Him for the answers. The answers to our questions, mistakes, failures, doubts, fears, problems. Look unto Jesus for Him to rescue you out of whatever situation you are in and He will never fail you. We can look unto Jesus to heal us, save us and protect us! He will do just what we’re expecting Him to do because of His mighty power and unconditional love for us. He promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us!
So beloved, if you have any problems in your life…..and I’m sure we all have something that we struggle with. It could be that you deal with bad headaches, knee pain, constant back pain. Look unto Jesus, in the Word of God, and find the scriptures to stand on for your circumstances and problems. Isaiah 53:5 says that….by Your stripes I am healed…., look unto Jesus by taking that scripture and others, speaking them in faith and thanking Jesus for your healing.
Beloved, we have been looking unto ourselves, our friends, our co-workers, our spouses and our siblings too long. We are thankful for those whom God has placed in our lives, but not all the time are they able to rescue or heal us. We must look unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. The more we look unto Him, the more we will see His healing and everything else we’re believing God for, manifest in our lives.
I will continue to be me and believe, trust and depend in and on Jesus. I pray that you my love will learn to do the same. I will be me and you……
